Christmas Tree Lighting Rings in the Season

The Christmas spirit has arrived in Iva and was out in full force at the 2008 Town of Iva Christmas Tree Lighting. Mayor Bobby Gentry served as host and welcomed the large crowd that gathered for the festive event. District Three schools were well represented as the Crescent High School Band performed songs of the holiday season and the Iva Elementary School Tiny Tiger Chorus sang songs filled with Christmas joy. Hot cider, cookies and assorted snacks were served by local volunteers and a rousing cheer greeted the lighting of the trees.
